Neighborhood Nurturers

Neighborhood Nurturers is Fields of Dreams Chicago’s signature after-school program, providing Black and Latinx middle school youth with mentorship, academic support, and leadership development.

Through Saturday sessions held year-round at North Lawndale College Prep, students build resilience, connect with peers, and unlock their potential. Participants also receive stipends and enjoy a supportive, engaging environment rooted in empowerment and community.

Program Components

Mentoring

Participants receive one-on-one mentoring from caring adults who provide guidance, support, and encouragement tailored to each student's needs.

Academic Support

We offer tutoring, homework help, and educational workshops to help students excel in school and develop essential skills for success.

Personal Development

Through workshops and group activities, students explore topics such as leadership, self-confidence, goal-setting, and emotional well-being.

Community Engagement

Youth have the opportunity to participate in service projects and volunteer initiatives that make a positive impact in their neighborhoods.

DreamBuilders Camp

DreamBuilders Camp is a transformative summer experience where middle schoolers grow, lead, and shine. Through games, wellness practices, and hands-on community projects, youth explore their potential and build the skills to lead with purpose.

Program Highlights

Educational Workshops

Students engage in hands-on learning experiences focused on topics such as STEM, arts and culture, environmental conservation, and life skills.

Outdooor Exploration

Youth have the opportunity to participate in nature-based activities, team-building exercises, and recreational outings that promote physical health and environmental stewardship.

Creative Expression

Through art projects, music and drama workshops, and storytelling sessions, students unleash their creativity and express themselves in meaningful ways.
